Jé-Joh Shén Therapeutic Massage
Jé-Joh Shén Therapeutic Massage is similar to Anma which has been practised in Japan for over 1500 years. Anma means, "to calm with the hands." Prior to WWII, Anma massage was primarily given by blind people. Even today, half of the traditional Japanese Anma practitioners are blind.
Jé-Joh Shén Therapeutic Massage is a multi-focussed application of Jé-Joh Shén acupressure techniques of direct pressure and lifting up muscle but also uses stroking, kneading, stretching and percussive movements (tapping) with the thumbs and fingers on acu-points. Jé-Joh Shén moves out from the heart. Jé-Joh Shén aims to re-balance the flow of (Ki) bio-energy in the meridians. Jé-Joh Shén work is done primarily with the thumbs and fingers on specific points known as tsubos (acu-point energy centres). These are the "wells" through which the meridian streams can be accessed. By breaking up congested channels and re-balancing the flow, natural healing can take place.
