Schedule For Pre-marital Adventure
One of the greatest challenges of our day is developing life-long partnerships. This workshop is designed to help couples explore their wants, needs, desires and expectations BEFORE they enter into the partnership of Marriage.
This workshop is designed for groups and individuals who want to be equipped for life.
Week 1 of Workshop
- Review the format of the Pre-martial Counselling Program;
- Collect fees (if required);
- Complete the Pre-martial Counselling Information Sheet;
- Hand out materials to be used and discuss the homework requirements;
- Share stories and get to know each other as couples.
Week 2 of Workshop
- Draw a “genogram” with the couple and discuss its implications;
- Begin exploring the responses to the “Marriage Expectation Inventory” (MEI) starting with MEI - 1 “In-Law Expectations”;
Week 3 of Workshop
- MEI - 2 “Relationship History and Spousal Qualities”
- MEI - 3 “Giving and Receiving Love”
Week 4 of Workshop
- MEI - 4 “Communication”
- MEI - 5 “Conflict Resolution”
Week 5 of Workshop
- MEI - 6 “Our Sexual Relationship”
- MEI - 7 “When It Gets Bad: A Week with my future Partner”
Week 6 of Workshop
- MEI - 8 “Interests I/We Have”
- MEI - 9 “Role, Money & Vocation Expectations”
Week 7 of Workshop
- MEI - 10 “Children and Our Expectations”
- MEI - 11 “Our Spiritual Relationship”
Week 8 of Workshop (possible)
- MEI - 12 “Pre-Marital Questionnaire for those previously married”
