Reiki - Natural Healing Therapy
Principles of Healing
Healing is not the popular conception of removal of symptoms. Healing is full
and complete resolution of the causes of the disease. Healing is returning to a state of
alignment with your Higher Power or true way of being.
How It's Done
Reiki, pronounced (ray-key) is an ancient Japanese "laying on of hands" healing
art that utilizes God's life-force energy for healing and transformation purposes. It is a
subtle, yet effective way to integrate emotional, physical, and spiritual balance.
In its simplest form using Reiki is simply the practitioner placing their hands
directly on the recipients body, with the intent of bringing healing, and willing for Reiki
energy to flow. Traditionally, Reiki is done with the recipient lying flat (a Reiki Table is
best).
There is a set of 58 hand positions traditionally taught which give good coverage
over the recipients entire body. It is not necessary to follow those positions, they are merely
taught as a starting position from which the practitioner can learn. If there is a specific area
of concern the practitioner can keep his/her hands right there for as long as necessary.
The First Time Reiki Healing Experience: How It Works
Reiki means Spirit guided or God's life force energy that promotes healing and
health. Reiki may be experienced by one as warmth, tingling sensations, images or colours that
gently stimulate the body's own innate soundness to heal at the source of the problem, promoting
a wholistic balancing of the mind, body, and spirit. A Reiki Practitioner, skilled in 1st Degree
Reiki and/or 2nd Degree Reiki and/or Reiki Master, is needed to help focus this energy where
needed.
A typical session consists of the Reiki Practitioner's strategic placement of hands
on or slightly above the client's body, which focuses the life-force energy through the
practitioner's body into the problem area. The life force energy knows what the problem is and
goes where it needs to. This energy serves as a means of cleansing the body of unhealthy toxins,
reducing stress, loosening blocked energy, accelerating the body's natural healing abilities, and
relieving pain, through its calming effect on the emotions and mind of the client.
When a person comes for a Reiki healing, he or she may not know anything about what
Reiki is and does. What they may have heard about Reiki is that it can provide great stress
relief; a feeling of total mental and physical relaxation; and possibility deep emotional
release. Sometimes you may have a person that has a chronic illness. The reason that they have
come for Reiki is to be treated "immediately". This is fine, except that it is important for the
client to know that they may have to do some life altering work for themselves. Reiki works if
the person desires to be healed and is willing to integrate all healing modalities to remain
well.
About Energy Centres and Meridians
Part of the theory in Traditional Oriental Medicine is that the God's life-force
energy flows along specific pathway in the body, the term "meridian" is used to describe these pathways. Each meridian passes through a major or minor "Energy Centre" in the body. There are major Energy Centres which manage our most critical body functions and can be affected by and affect our emotional and spiritual life issue. There are also minor energy centres, which regulate the less fundamental needs.
These centres of energy are vortices that extend out from the central nerve of the
spinal column. There are seven major Energy Centres in the body, although the human body actually has over 8000 total. Our energy centres relate to areas of our lives and by balancing these centres of energy, we can maintain balance and health in the physical body, our emotions and our
spirit.

Remote Healing's
To the
world of the Spirit there is no such thing as time or space. The world we see around us is only a
small fragment or slice of all which exists. This small fragment is that which our physical
bodies can detect and transmit or describe to our consciousness, or which we can construct
machines to extend the senses of our physical bodies. There is more in existence than what our
bodies can detect in this way (though with some training and practice one can extend the range of
what our conscious minds can perceive).
