The Skilled Helper Introduction to Basic Counselling Skills Outline of Skilled Helper Certificate Program
Skilled Helper Programme is designed to train individuals in the basic counselling skills for effective client-therapist communication. When the programme is completed, those attending will be able to listen with empathy and respect to the emotional needs of hurting people and be able to evaluate the emotional and spiritual factors affecting people under their care. It is important to realize that the literal meaning of Psychology is "Study of the Soul". The topics covered are:

Schedule and Fees The Skilled Helper Programme takes place over one intensive weekend - beginning Friday evening at 6:30pm; Saturday from 9:00am until 10:30pm and Sunday from 9:00am concluding at 5:30pm. This training program has been specifically designed for those who are working full or part time. The total hours spent in lecture and practicum is about 30 hours. The expectation is that 6-8 hours of practicum in small groups will be experienced. Your investment in the programme is designed to cover expenses. This is negotiable. Training For Religious Organisations Dr. Brick would consider coming to your church to do the Skilled Helper Certificate Programme if there was enough interest by your group. A suggestion is to have two or three churches come together. In this way there are two option for putting on the training programme:
Certificates would be mailed to the hosting church for each successful participant after the conclusion of the programme. If you find this option would work best to equip your church members to care for the emotional and spiritual wholeness of each other, then give Dr. Brick a call to discuss the possibilities, scheduling and donation to cover the cost of incurred expenses.
