Kruger/Somatic Release
There are five basic premises to Integrated Somatic Release Therapy:
The body has an innate awareness which, when allowed, can heal the body at all levels: Physical, Emotional and Spiritual.
This innate awareness can even tell us what is wrong with the body system, what needs to be treated, and what it means.
The key element in maintaining health in the body is the reestablishment of communication between all systems and parts of the body/mind complex. In this way, the body can heal, find integration and adapt to the stresses of life.
The most important consideration in the healing process is allowing the body/mind complex to express its needs verbally and/or in movement.
The more we respect the body’s innate awareness, the more it instructs us and the more powerful it becomes.
In Integrated Somatic Release Therapy we are consulting the innate body awareness for guidance on how to treat the client. Just think, if the body could talk, what would it say?
The body/mind complex reflects our thoughts, emotions and spiritual experiences. A stiff shoulder carries the weight of the world, a locked jaw holds unspoken words, an back pain reflects a lack of support. Could this body language be revealing the subconscious mind, and could it possible hold the key to the healing process itself? If so, how?
Through Integrated Somatic Release Therapy we give the patterns developed in our bodies a new context within the subconscious mind, from a necessary defence to an outdated inconvenience. Instead of imposing new postural patterns on the client’s possibly unwilling body, we first make it safe in the subconscious world for the client to listen to the innate body awareness and to let go, then and only then can we utilize techniques with our hands to release the holding patterns in the client’s body which contain tension, hurt, hopelessness and despair - causing pain, stiffness, stress, anxiety and dis-ease.
The process includes the unique techniques developed by Dr. Josh Kruger in what has become known as the Kruger Omni Healing Technique for physical release and the use of Jé-Joh Shén specific Acu-point for emotional release. The protocol is accomplished under a light trance state to promote subconscience acceptance of change and release of stored somatic imbalance.
General Technique Can Include:
- Light pressure: This improves circulation and provides stimulation to the muscles, nerves and the internal organs of the recipient.
- Pressing: This has a calming effect that is good for the treatment of neuralgia and muscular tension and aches.
- Vibration: This improves the functioning of finely branched nerves and small muscles.
- Tapping: This improves circulation and the motor nerves in the skin and muscles, relieving fatigue and increasing metabolism.
- Circular pressure: This is used to break up and encourage the absorption of deposits in the joints.
Assessment can include an assessment of one or more of the following: the posture, the spine, extremities, cranial bones, meridians, acupressure points, various body reflex points, and emotional reflexes. This method of adjusting is very quick and gentle. Once the body is in balance, it functions at a higher level. As a result, healing takes place and many of the symptoms being experienced disappear or at least improve!
All alignments are accomplished WITHOUT the need of any special equipment. The basic treatment involves the a gentle tractioning of the spine with simultaneous motion of lower extremities) and an additional modality that involves tapping the skin at targeted areas. It is theorized that in doing so you stimulate the afferent nerves, internuncial nerves and recurrent meningeal nerves thereby affecting the vertebral interossei muscles and thus correcting misalignment of the vertebrae.
